Spirit Rally for the Fletcher Family - Dorchester
Small town hockey families stick together

On Tuesday evening at the Dorchester Flight Exec Centre, Ryan Fletcher collapsed in the dressing room after playing a pickup game with friends. He suffered a major heart attack, but thankfully those around him were able to quickly act and used the AED and chest compressions until the fire department and ambulance arrived.

Ryan is currently at the University Hospital in the ICU in stable condition and our thoughts and prayers are with him, his wife Meghan, his three children Levi, Evyn and Marleau and the entire family.

Ryan is an amazing human being and friend. He is always the first guy to help when you need him and overall is just a positive person who is there to give you a hug or pick you up when you need it. He volunteers his time to our community coaching hockey, baseball, soccer and running the Dorchester NBC men’s hockey league.

This Friday, the Dorchester Dolphins have graciously come forward to donate $2 from every admission towards the Fletcher family and the Dorchester NBC League will be accepting cash donations as well as e-transfer to [email protected]. We do not have all the answers at this time but at the very least Ryan will be missing a significant amount of time from work and we as a community can help ease them through a difficult situation.

We would like to pack the house tomorrow (Friday, September 27th) at 7:30pm and have DMHA players and Dorchester NBC players wear their jerseys and make signs in support of Ryan.

We love you Fletch and know that you are way too stubborn to let this get the best of you, stay strong and fight hard and we will see you back up and running in no time. Love you brother.
